Wiley 'Traditional' #62924-8583

$50.00

I’d say Randy’s specialty is the Freehand style, but he can certainly do standard shapes, as this wide Bell Dublin illustrates. It’s a Grp. 6 size with thick walls and a large tobacco chamber that is nearly 9/10” in diameter at the rim. Except for one little spot of wear on the inner rim that keeps it from being perfectly circular, the condition is excellent, with no carbon or wear and none on the acrylic stem. The draw is open. The bowl sides exhibit fine flame grain which wraps around to the front. If Randy Wiley isn’t the grand old man (I am not calling him old) of U.S. artisan pipemaking now that Paul Perri is dead, I’d like to know who is. He deserves much more recognition and appreciation than he tends to get. I’m not sure he cares at all. He just keeps his head down and continues to make pipes for the smoking public. Any pipe shop that doesn’t carry his wares, for quality and variety that they can offer to his customers is making a mistake.
5.85” long, bowl 1.8” tall. Weight: 1 5/8 oz., 46 grams.
