Micoli #8124-9192
"Mic" Burns was noted for both the method of rustication he employed (a dremel tool) and the shape of many of his pipes...often venturing into sculptural originals. I have seen a number of them, and you can see some of the more outré pieces on the Pipedia site. This piece has a marvelously well integrated unity of rustication and shape. The two aspects work tremendously well together...it's a great pipe to handle as a normal, sane smoker, and the rustication keeps drawing your eye to it's deep, craggy surface. Form and function come together here. To these eyes, this might well be the handsomest Micoli I've seen. It's a Grp. 6 in size, has an open draw, is in excellent condition and with the tip of the cleaner crimped, it passes the test.
