On the negative side, this pipe has the legal minimum amount of straight grain in order to be allowed to call itself a straight grain. On the positive side, everything else is in its favor. It is certainly a nice piece of briar, the condition is near-new, it’s a Grp. 5 in size, the draw is wide-open, the stem material is a comfortable vulcanite and it does say ‘straight grain’ on the shank under the ‘Savinelli’ so you can impress your wife and her friends when you smoke it.
