Son of a bitch. This pipe is in excellent condition, including the nomenclature…except for the number(s) after the D in England. Thus, the date is muddled, which is not at all unusual for Dunhills. Under a lens, I am pretty sure I detected a 6, but is there a 1 in front of the 6? I am far from sure about that. Thus, the pipe is either a 1976 (likely, I guess) or a 1966, quite possible. I actually think the blast better suggests a 1966 conclusion, but the stamped shape #, 622, probably points to a 1976 resolution. In any case, it is a Grp. 6 size. No marks on the stem, a clean clear rim. Open draw. Even, against all odds, passes the cleaner test with just a turn of the cleaner, although use a long cleaner as it’s big enough to consume all that cotton in one go. Used.
