Somebody should smoke this pipe because it could be phenomenal. I have a feeling it goes back to Fritz Becker, Paolo’s father and a remarkable man and artisan in a number of ways. Here, it’s the ring grain that captures your attention first. Then, maybe the condition which is excellent. Finally, although it doesn’t look that large (Grp. 6 is realistic) you notice the chamber diameter, which, despite chamber walls that are plenty thick, is 9/10” at the rim. The ebonite stem is brindle and the draw is wide-open. Used.
