Here’s the deal…we have a pipe that has clearly been smoked a lot, and not with the meticulous care given it that many of you provide your favorites. But therein lies my point…this was pretty clearly somebody’s much loved smoker. The rim is all intact and not burned at all…but there is a lot of carbon residue on it. The stem, with the original possibly chomped on in joy, is a vulcanite replacement. But, the nomenclature is fully intact and quite clear. There is no date year on it. All I can do to make up for the pipe’s failings is to offer it at an appealing (I hope) price and provide someone with great smokes for years to come. That, of course, is my overall mission, the accomplishment of which, again I hope, get me into heaven or at least another Championship ring for the S.F. Giants. I’ll take either one. A large Grp. 4 in size, or a small 5.
