If I’m not mistaken, Armellini is now in the hands of the 3rd generation of pipe makers. Not too long ago (although time passes awfully quickly) I had conversations with the daughter and grandson of the original Armellini, but I never quite got to their workshop in Northern Italy. This large piece (Grp. 7 size) is in good condition, with only a touch of wear and some carbon residue on the inner rim of the chamber. The stem is pristine and the draw is open. Straight grain surrounds the bowl. It’s awfully easy to put your thumb through the bridge and hold the pipe with no fear of it falling out of your hand. Used.
