The meerschaum cup, which is in very good condition, is a little loose. Since there is nothing wrong with the cup, it's likely that the cork lining on the gourd is a little dry and has shrunken just a bit. What I think will solve the problem is using the spray feature on my clothes iron to add just a little moisture to that cork to see if it expands just that little bit to keep the cup secure. It is certainly smokable now, but there does exist the risk of the cup falling out of the gourd while engaged. That could create a problem. The stem is without bite marks and the draw is adequate, but not as open as a good briar would be.
