Claude Romaine Casino #42424-7819 *SOLD 8/7/24*

$45.00

For those who like to use a 9mm filter, this pipe provides an excellent option. Claude Romaine is a brand made by Butz Choquin for the German market, and hence the filter possibility as the vast majority of German pipe smokers use a 9mm filter. One does not have to use such a filter in the tenon. I have a Rainer Barbi that can take a filter but I never use one and don’t even notice it can take one until I remove the stem to clean inside the shank. This pipe has prominent and beautifully placed cross grain at the front and back of the bowl, highlighted by contrasting stains. The condition is flat out excellent. The cross grain comes, of course, with substantial amounts of Bird’s Eye on the sides of the bowl. It also has a flat bottom and so sits up easily. It’s a large Grp. 5 size and the stem is vulcanite.
5.75” long, bowl 2” tall. Weight: 2 oz., 58 grams.
