This is the 2nd artist that Giancarlo Guidi chose to honor with a series of pipes in his name. There are 20 pipes in the Magritte collection and this is number 10. It’s a Grp. 6 size in excellent condition. The grade, I suspect, is Spongia, which likely means sandblast, or something similar, in Italian. I don’t believe I’ve heard that before, so maybe I’m wrong. Regardless, sandblast is sandblast and this one exhibits a lot of ring grain, although not perfectly horizontal rings. The draw is open and a cleaner passes easily to the chamber bottom.
