The majority, by a large margin, of Ser Jacopo smooth releases are L (for “Liscia” which means smooth in Italian) 1s. This is an L2, meaning a higher quality grain pattern. Since we now have photos, you can see that this would be given even a higher designation today, quite likely in the much desired gem series. But it’s an older Ser Jacopo, with the red dot logo, so by today’s standards, the given grade is a bonus. It’s also large, appreciably larger than the Dunhill Grp. 6. The silver band is tarnished, but that polishes easily. The condition is excellent.
