Savinelli Autograph 4 #327-10955 *SOLD 4/1/25*

$75.00

I think this is one of the earlier Autographs. I’m going strictly on intuition, although maybe also by the spare nomenclature. Also, the more recent Autographs that are all smooth are going to have a higher designation than 4. This briar, albeit without all that much straight grain, does exude a sense of quality. I bet it smokes great. One feature that disturbs my sense of pipe aesthetics is the flat bottom to the bowl. If the pipe maker is going to give us a flat bottom, he must, to my way of seeing this, give us a pipe that sits up on that bottom, or why bother? Put another way, form has to follow function. lt’s that simple. The condition is excellent but the stem logo is gone. This clever pipe aces the cleaner test. Grp. 7.
6” long, bowl 3” tall. Weight: 2 7/8 oz., 83 grams.
