Savinelli Autograph #225-10608CO

$85.00

Unless I miss my guess (and really, when have I ever missed my guess? The only time I miss my guess is when I have money riding on the outcome. In those instances, I usually miss my guess with occasional frequency…about as often as the sun comes up each day) this is an old Autograph. One can tell by the stamping. Plus, there doesn’t appear to be any number on it, which would tell you what level Autograph it is. Maybe at the beginning anything reaching the level of Savinelli Autograph was simply considered the very best briar available and no further designation was necessary. Some clever Savinelli collector will be able to tell us about this. In any case, almost every Autograph that is totally smooth is at least one up from the now basic Autograph 4, so you can certainly consider this one at least a 5 if you like. While the pipe is in very good condition, it’s clear to me that this is a replacement stem, which is fine insofar as this stem looks unused. It is ebonite, not acrylic, as with most Autograph stems, so a little softer on the teeth, if that’s what you prefer. Like the majority of Autographs, the pipe is large…Grp. 7. The draw is open and the chamber large enough to just take my thumb.
6” long, bowl 2.8” tall. Weight: 2.75 oz., 77 grams.
