While Radice, as with almost all brands, has a generally distinctive style that can, by experienced pipe people, be identified across the room, it also has the eternally inventive Gigi Radice, the family’s patriarch. In this case, I could not readily identify the brand even when it was sitting in the case, awaiting to be posted. I thought it might be a Danish brand, or something completely different. Nope, it’s a Radice. I doubt two dimensions will do it justice, but we’ll just have to try, won’t we? First of all, it’s unsmoked, i.e., new. So, the condition is mint. The draw is wide-open and that stem extension may or may not be bamboo…with the way Radice can produce a faux bamboo shank, I just can’t tell. Grp. 6 size, with a chamber that can take in my thumb. The draw is wide-open and the “o” stamped on the shank’s side indicates that this is one of the prized oil cured pieces.
