Paolo Becker 3 Heart #42724-8184RD

$750.00

The breadth of Paolo’s carving/sculpting skills is exhibited on this page, with two conventional shapes (the Liverpool and the Poker) and then this completely unique expression of his artistry. You can see the 100% flame grain in the photos. You can not see that the wide end of the shank is not hollow, as would be a reverse Calabash, but is a sculptural complement to the shape of the bowl. Paolo is also practical and the flat bottom certainly does allow the pipe to sit up. The size is between a large Grp. 3 and maybe a smallish Grp. 4. The draw is wide-open and when a cleaner is turned/twisted (no crimping of tip needed, although that might work, too) it goes to the bottom of the chamber. I am not sure if the brindle stem material is vulcanite or acrylic, but I think maybe it’s vulcanite. Tough call for me.
5” long, bowl 2” tall. Weight: 1 3/8 oz., 39 grams.
