In an attempt to establish a price for this pipe, with which I am mostly unfamiliar, I went to Moretti’s site. Rather than calling it a Morta, he calls it Bog Oak, a term I have also heard applied to these pipes. This piece is in excellent condition…maybe even ‘near new.’ You can see how short it is, but the bowl is Grp. 5 size, although with the thick chamber wall, the size of the tobacco chamber is small…maybe Grp. 4 or even a Grp. 3 size. These size designations are flexible, of course, because pipe shapes are so varied. The draw here is wide-open. The stem is acrylic.
