Mastro de Paja #62924-8347 *SOLD 7/1/24 MA*

$35.00

The pipe is in excellent condition and the sandblast reveals straight grain and ring grain qualities. The stem is standard Italian acrylic and the draw is open. What I don’t like about the pipe is that the slit in the button is so tight that it’s hard to get even a thin pipe cleaner down the shank. That is the kind of thing that happens when pipes are made in factories, even small ones, and the makers aren’t pipe smokers and they don’t quality-check their work. You damn well aren’t going to see that in a craftsman (artisan) made pipe like those of Larry Roush, where you get a check list of all aspects with the pipe. It’s an insult to the pipe smoker not to check the fundamentals, even if it’s not an intentional insult. You’re paying good money for the pipe and should get what you pay for. The ability to easily use a pipe cleaner is not some superfluous activity.
5.35” long, bowl 2.25” tall. Weight: 1.75 oz., 47 grams.
