Mastro de Paja #8!24-4574 *SOLD 8/8/24*

$60.00

Rusticated Grp. 5 in excellent condition with open draw and acrylic stem exhibiting all the goodness that such a classic shape can offer, plus a very good price…at least I think so. It’s what you think that really matters though, isn’t it? You’ll see a dark spot on the shank in the first photo; it is not the result of heat or any kind of burn. It’s almost as though somebody dropped a spot of ink on the shank, although I don’t think it’s that either. Whatever it is, it is only cosmetic, doesn’t offend me (and I hope not you) and is basically insignificant. What it might be (because it is intriguing) is a little of the nicotine leaking through hygroscopic, or porous briar, a la a meerschaum. Rainer Barbi preferred that kind of wood and thus championed Ligurian (a region in Italy) briar over others, even when people were hailing Algerian or Corsican briar. Used.
5.5” long, bowl 1.9” tall. Weight: 1.25 oz., 36 grams.
