This grade matches the Autograph, although it is, of course, rarer and harder to achieve as the Autograph parameters are proscribed only by the the grain pattern, which the pipe maker is free to follow, while the Giubileo D’Oro is dictated by the classic shape. That dictate is why most old Dunhills are Shells and not the more expensive, and more remunerative, smooth grades. This piece is a Grp. 4 (or maybe small 5) in excellent condition…rim, chamber, stem. As befits a traditional shape, the stem material is vulcanite. The draw is open. For you Savinelli collectors, it’s shape # 701.
