Fiamma di Re 2 Corona (crown) Plus Silver #42724-7933

$360.00

This brand holds a special place in my heart. Shortly after I took over Sherlock’s Haven in San Francisco in 1989, I got a call from Drucquer’s manager, Gaston Chan, who was pouring over the last remaining pipes from the Fiamma di Re pipe factory in Rome. He asked me if I wanted any at these close-out prices and I took what I could afford. They quickly sold, of course. And other than the occasional and rare used pipe, it was seen no more. Well, Signor Andrea Pascucci (I hope I’m spelling his name correctly) has resurrected the brand (he may have worked for Fiamma back then…he did work for Ser Jacopo and other Pesaro pipe brands) and done a beautiful, beautiful job with these new Fiammas. I met him at the Chicago show and when I saw what he was producing, and the favorable prices, I knew I had to have some to show off to you. It’s almost a shame to lead off with this architectural beauty as it’s going to be hard to top. I hope the photos do it some justice as 2 dimensions can’t give the full picture. Because of the geometric shaping, it’s hard to call the size precisely, but it’s about a Grp. 6 in size. At least you can see the straight grain all around and the Bird’s Eye on top. The draw is wide-open and the stem is acrylic, with a quick, easy pass of the cleaner through the air hole into the chamber bottom.
5.8” long, bowl 1.75” tall. Weight: 2 1/8 oz., 61 grams.
