Here is an interesting treatment by the pipe makers of Castello. I think we can all see the influence of Charatan in the cup & saucer shaping. What we see of the 'cup' exhibits a lot of straight grain. The intricately carved 'saucer' would normally elicit a "Pi" designation from Castello, which also means more money, but there is no Pi stamped on the shank, so it was presented to me, and is not presented to you, as a straight-forward "Castello" which is, happily, a not too expensive grade of the brand. It's a compact Grp. 5 size, with a wide-open draw & is actually a comfortable pipe to hold. New.
