Let’s see if I can get this right. In the 10 year run-up to the Millennium (year 2000) Castello, under Carlo Scotti’s auspices (his signature, in script, is stamped on the shank) put out 235 dated pipes each year. This one, for instance, is numbered 96 our of 235.
If you look at the silver bands, the three in the middle all rotate. Two have the Castello castle logo all around, and the middle band has the year, 1999 and the Castello name on it. The “Collection” grade is earned by the stellar flame grain on each side of the bowl. The condition is excellent. It also comes with a distinct sleeve. The size is a large Grp. 5.
