We’ve been graced with a new pipe from Wolfgang. The finish on this sandblasted piece is just different. I can’t really explain it. In discussion with him, Wolfgang has explained that he prefers a shallow blast which, while it makes the grain visible, also allows the smoker to fully grasp and feel the contours of the bowl that he has so meticulously and painstakingly crafted. I see a lot of branchwood in that grain, and it is nearly mesmerizing in the effect it creates. The pipe is large, too. It’s a Grp. 6 size, and there is lots of wood in that bowl. A truly stellar pipe. New.
