I was told by the person consigning this pipe that is is called the Motorcycle. At least that’s what I wrote down next to its name. Something about its shape must have come into Steffen’s mind…perhaps during a dream. It’s hard to argue with dreams. Although quite short, the bowl and chamber are at least a Grp. 4 size and probably Grp. 5. As you can see, with an untypical shape, it’s hard to compare this easily with a standard template. The condition is unsmoked, so pristine covers it. The dark stain makes it difficult for me to see and then describe the grain, but almost all the bottom of the Horn-like bottom is cross grain. At least one side of the bowl has plenty of Bird’s Eye, too.
