Old England by Sasieni #42724-7738 *SOLD 5/8/24*

$45.00

Old England is one of Sasieni’s second line pipes, and a family era piece like this was made from the same old briar used for their Four Dots and Two dots, albeit with perhaps a fill or two. However, I looked for the fill here and can’t fine one. The grain isn’t great, but nobody I’ve ever spoken to claims that a pipe’s grain pattern contributes or detracts from the way the pipe smokes. Further, this pipe is in all-around excellent condition, including the “S” (for Sasieni, no doubt) on the stem. It is fully intact, but the white has been buffed off. Perhaps I can restore even that with some old typewriter White Out. I’ll try. Because of the shape, the pipe looks smallish, but it’s a solid Grp. 4 bowl size. Vulcanite stem, of course.
5.15” long, bowl 1.45” tall. Weight: 1 3/8 oz., 40 grams.
