Charatan’s straight grain line starts with the Distinction. This one, a Grp. 6 size, is in very good condition, with only a little carbon residue on the rim. And while the pipe does have the Lane “L” stamped on the shank, the “CP” stem logo has been entirely buffed off, assuming that this is the original vulcanite stem. I think it is, but can’t be sure. The nomenclature is crisp and clear. The draw is wide-open and the chamber wall is thick.
