As is common with so many old Charatans, and their magnificent briar, this is a large pipe…a Grp. 7 size, I’d say. (The Dunhill size template doesn’t go past Grp. 6) The condition is very good, with the merest hint of wear on the inner rim of the chamber (or is it my imagination, and there’s no wear at all?). The worst aspect is the nomenclature, which is all there, but is buffed down quite a bit. The “L” is there, in its circle, but also buffed way down. While the “CP” on the stem is buffed way down, it’s certainly visible on the vulcanite stem, and the rest of the stem is in excellent condition.
