Two important things about this pipe: 1) It is very large for a Barling’s; the EXEXEL designation is no mistake. 2) It is all original and family era. Regarding the size, the shank alone, excluding stem, is 3.85” long. The bowl size is easily a Grp. 6. As you can see inthe photos, there is a little wear on the rim, plus some minor dings up there. The “Barling’s Make” in print font is all quite clear, as is the size designation. There is no shape number…likely because this was pretty unique in shape and size. You can discern the crossed “Barling” on the stem, but it is seriously buffed down. The chamber interior is in excellent condition.
