1974 Dunhill Root Briar #225-10739
It’s hard to determine the year because the “4” was only lightly stamped, if at all. It’s not the nomenclature in general, all of which is clear and crisp. Not an issue. It’s just that one number, and if there isn’t a 4 there, what is the year of production. The “1” before the ghostly 4 looks to be underlined, or is it a minor scratch in that one spot on the pipe? Enough to drive one to distraction. The pipe is in very good condition. The stem is pristine and I’ve already told you about the nomenclature. The rim does have very minor wear spots; please see the photos. The draw is wide-open. The pipe is stamped Grp. 4, but it looks larger than that to me, and considering the diameter of the chamber (it easily takes my thumb) it has to be at least a Grp. in actual size.
5.4” long, bowl 2” tall. Weight: 1.5 oz., 44 grams.
