1970 Dunhill Collector HT XL #42724-7768 *SOLD 5/24/24*

$245.00

Quite large, maybe Grp. 8 in size. Considering the ring grain and straight grain in the blast, the pipemaker who began work on this pipe must have been praying the briar would stay clean enough for a smooth piece. That, of course, was asking too much, but he did make what I think is a marvelous pipe…if you like very large pipes. Although there is a very minor, horizontal indent on the top of the stem near the button, it’s the wear on the inner rim that is the major detraction. BTW, the HT stands for Hand Turned and the XL means extra large. The nomenclature is clear and crisp.
7.25” long, bowl 2.3” tall. Weight: 3 1/8 oz., 90 grams.
