While you can see the condition of the bowl and stem, it’s the nomenclature that is less than perfect on this pipe. All of the “Dunhill” is easily legible (but not at all crisp) but of the “Root Briar” only the “Root” is visible. On the other side of the shank, you can see the 4 after the “England” that tells us it’s a 1964 version, but the rest is incomplete due to buffing. A little wear on the rim, and shallow indents on the top and bottom of the original stem complete the list of this pipe’s deficiencies. As for future longevity and smoke-ability, there should be no problem. The draw is open.
