1963 Dunhill shell #9424-9464 *SOLD 9/25/24*

$150.00

From what was still the golden era of Dunhill Shells we see this beautifully blasted little Pot-like piece. That blast exhibits interesting branch wood. The rim is solid, with no wear taking it out of round, but it does seem slightly smoothed down. On the stem are 3 very shallow indents on the bottom and 1 shallow tooth mark on the top of the stem. The chamber is in excellent condition. The biggest issue is a nomenclature that is buffed down to illegibility in large part. Obviously, the date is legible, but the size of the pipe isn't. The circle is visible, but the size number inside that circle is not, at least to my poor eyes. I'm going to guess it's a size 3, although I guess it could qualify as a 4. Still, that beautiful blast and the excellent chamber and the knowledge of how those early 1960 pipes smoked (the best, IMNSHO) makes this a worthwhile get.
5.8" long, bowl 1.45" tall. Weight: 1 oz., 29 grams.
