Although the inner rim is sharp, with the exception of a touch of wear at one spot, the blast on the top of this pipe is worn down so that it’s almost smooth. But the rest of the blast on this oldie is close to magnificent, showing the widely-spaced ring grain on one side of the bowl and the Bird’s eye on the other side. Pretty clearly, this is Algerian Briar. The nomenclature is all there to read, although some areas are buffed down…but nothing is buffed out and most of the nomenclature is pretty sharp for its age. Much the same can be said about the stem, which shows tooth activity on the bottom, but nothing that can really be called an indentation…more like very gentle waves. The inner chamber is excellent, so this pipe is meant to give lots more great smokes.
