1950s Dunhill #327-11216 *SOLD 4/16/25*

$85.00

Two or possibly three issues plague this fine pipe, and I say that because it looks like the previous owner liked it a lot and made sure it stayed in working condition. The band does protect a split that goes up the shank. The other issue is a nomenclature that has been buffed to near oblivion. With a magnifying glass, I can discern the brand name, the shape, a CK, and enough of the Pat. # to ascertain that it’s a 1950s pipe. I would bet that it’s a Root Briar, but I can’t make enough out of the letter I see to swear to it. It’s a Grp. 4 size and easily passes the cleaner test. Is the stem original…I can’t tell, but it is one of those large tenons that one sometimes sees in a Dunhill…not large enough for a filter, but larger than a standard looking tenon. It certainly is an old, vulcanite stem, so I’m leaning toward it being original.
5” long, bowl 1.4” tall. Weight: 1.5 oz., 43 grams.
