1950 Patent number Dunhill Shell #21724-6878

$345.00

The nomenclature is crisp and clear, as is the rim, although I think the wall is a touch thinner than I would like to see it. The blast is still sharp and exhibits good branch wood grain. It is the stem that is a center of some interest. It certainly appears to be an original stem, with no teeth marks and a small, ivory-looking dot, although it understandably has a buffed button. What is unusual is the twin-bore stem. I don’t think it’s a replacement stem, at all; this doesn’t look like the typical, thick, molded twin-bores. Well, whoever owned this pipe going back almost 75 years, not only didn’t bite hard on the stem, but also didn’t smoke it enough to create any wear in the chamber. Used.
5.55” long, bowl 1.85” tall. Weight: 1 oz., 28 grams.
