Although I’m a devotee of the classic shapes as produced by Martin & Anders, this slight departure from that style caught my eye. I’m not sure if it’s the terrific cross grain and Bird’s Eye, or the very comfortable-to-hold shape or the perfect size. Likely, it’s a combination of all those thing plus the always intangible ‘it’ factor. It must be said, the Bird’s Eye covering the front of the bowl is beautiful. Does this bent pipe pass the cleaner test? Yes it does, easily. The draw is wide-open and the stem is vulcanite. New.
