Stanwell #11125-10282 *SOLD 2/6/25*

$100.00

I love it when a version of a pipe is so good, and unique, and in such good condition, that I can ask for, and command, a higher price than usual for that brand and grade. It doesn’t happen often. It might be a Dunhill Shell with a super-stellar sandblast, or a wonderful old Leeds-made Ben Wade. Today, it’s a simple Stanwell, so even at a slightly elevated price, it’s not likely to ruin the budget or antagonize the wife. Size-wise, it easily fits the Dunhill Grp. 5 template. The condition is, at worst, like-new. It may well be unsmoked. There is no discoloration inside the shank, and even a short smoke usually impacts that interior chamber. The stem, stem logo, chamber rim and interior chamber are all pristine. Indeed, it has a registration number, so it’s an old Stanwell. The best and most intriguing aspect, though, is the rustication. It looks entirely different than any Stanwell rustication I’ve seen. There is something about it that is beautiful. Go to the photos and check it out, although I don’t believe the photos do it justice, at all.
5.2” long,a bowl 1.8” tall. Weight: 1.5 oz., 41 grams.
