Quite large, made more so by the forward extension of the rim and the backward extension of the shank, providing a balance to this sandblasted, truly handcut, behemoth. The condition is excellent, with no sign of wear or carbon on the rim and no bite marks on the ebonite stem. The nomenclature is also crisp and clear, and there is a 1 in a circle stamped on it. The pipe easily and firmly sits up. It does not beg, though (except maybe for a bowl’s worth of good tobacco. The draw is open, too.
