With the virginal look, you have to pay attention to the grain in this sandblast, and if you do you will observe rather excellent straight grain and ring grain. In short, when the pipe picks up color, that grain pattern will pop out. The trim at the shank end of the stem is cocobolo. The stem itself has me a bit stymied. I’m pretty sure the material is ebonite, but the slit is cut the way acrylics are. But I’ll stick with the ebonite assessment. It’s a Grp. 5 size &the draw is open and it easily passes the cleaner test. It does sit up on that angled flat bottom. New.
