Jørgen L (Larsen) #8124-8917

$535.00

I know how good these early Larsens are; I have one. Therefore I am going to price it, to a small degree, based on what I know its intrinsic worth is. Not every pipe peddler does that, do they? I’m almost certain that this pipe, which is in excellent condition, was made during Jørgen’s first of three stints as a pipe maker, before the allergy to briar dust sidelined him for a good number of years. It’s not a shape for everybody, although I can tell you that it’s quite comfortable in the mouth and it also sits up, but the grain is straight all around (although it falls off a bit at the front) and the condition is excellent. No burns, no marks. A vulcanite stem and a wide-open draw.
5” long, bowl 2” tall. Weight: 2 oz., 57 grams
